COMPATIBILITY NOTES FOR RDPREP
IF YOU HAVE A CDROM DRIVE
Eject any CD you may have loaded before running RDPrep.
CDROMS cannot be partitioned nor have a Rigid Disk Block written to them.
USING RDPREP WITH NON-MICROBOTICS SCSI OR IDE INTERFACES
If the manufacturer of your interface properly and fully supports the Rigid
Disk Block standard and complies with Commodore's software standards,
you should be able to use RDPrep to partition your hard disk via that
interface _IF_ you do the following:
1. If running from Workbench, you must open the icon and put the proper
device driver name in the icon as a tooltype. For example, Commodore's
device driver is called "scsi.device" (for both its SCSI and IDE disk
interfaces). Thus the tooltype entry would look as follows:
DEVICE=scsi.device
RDPrep can, for example, be used to partition IDE drives on the Amiga
1200 without any MicroBotics hardware present.
2. If running RDPrep from the CLI, then you must issue the "-d"
keyword on the command line. For example, the command line for Commodore's
A1200 would look as follows:
RDPrep -d scsi.device
Note that spelling and capitalization are important to the name of the
device driver.
